Fix a Fresh Event
Question: I have mistakenly entered a FRESH event for an animal. How can I bring the animal back to its previous status?
Answer: You can remove a FRESH event from an animal by erasing it directly from an animal's CowCard, provided that all events entered after the FRESH event are removed first.
The FRESH event is the main starting event for all lactation records above lactation 0. Therefore, in order to remove a FRESH event, all the events that were entered after the FRESH must be removed first. For example, if you enter a FRESH event for an animal and then enter a MOVE event for that same animal, you must first erase the MOVE event before the system will allow you to erase the FRESH event.
- Removing a FRESH event also removes any test day records associated with it, so those records will have to be entered back manually, if necessary.
- Any calf records created by the FRESH event will also be removed when the event is erased.
- When a FRESH event is removed, the animal will revert back to her previous lactation record if that record still exists in the cowfile.
To remove a FRESH event, go to the animal's CowCard, right-click on the event, and select Erase this Event.
Once you've removed the FRESH event, you can re-enter the FRESH event correctly, if need be, along with any other necessary information.
