Use v10 Features in Pocket CowCard
Question: What are the benefits of DairyComp v10 support in Pocket CowCard?
Answer: The DairyComp v10 update includes support for numerous upgrades including additional events, items, testday data, offspring information, and more. With all of this information at your fingertips on your Pocket CowCard device, you can make better informed decisions about your dairy while you are out with the herd or away from the dairy. Learn more about the v10 improvements:
- More events. Pocket CowCard increases support from just 64 events to 128 events.
- Added stored items. Pocket CowCard increases support from 511 items to 1500 items.
- More calculated items. Pocket CowCard can support the calculated items associated with the newly-supported events.
- More protocols and protocol details. Pocket CowCard displays the full protocol name, up to 29 characters. We also added support for hospital pen protocols: if a protocol starts with the letter H, you can now select the hospital pen from a list if multiple pens are available.
- More detailed history data. Pocket CowCard now includes more information for previous lactation summaries. Pocket CowCard now shows Sire of Conception and up to three calf IDs in the Previous Lactations tab.
Please note that refresh times will increase to support all of the new information that is being downloaded and saved. You can disable v10 support at any time.
Disable v10 Support
Note that if you disable v10 Support, Pocket CowCard shows a Use V10 Setting message where only v10-compatible data is showing. You will see protocol names and previous lactation information, but you won't see newly-supported items or events.
Follow the steps below to continue:
- Open Pocket CowCard, go to Administration > Settings.
- Uncheck the box next to Refresh CowFile V10 Payload to disable v10 support.
- Save your changes.
