Clear Check (CHCK) Status from an Animal
Question: How do I clear the CHECK status from an animal so that it's removed from a vet list?
Answer: A CHECK (CHCK) status can be removed from an animal by changing its vet code status to OK, as explained below.
The CHECK status (vet code 1: CHCK) is assigned to an animal to ensure that it's added to the next vet list when it's generated. Usually, this is done by adding a CHECK event to an animal.
To clear the CHECK status, enter an OK event for the animal. This can be done by the vet when entering exam results (either in DairyComp directly or through the mobile app, PCC, or PULSE Platform). The OK event clears the vet code item for the animal and sets it back to zero (0).
To clear a CHCK directly in DairyComp, enter the following in the command line:
ENTER VC=0
The system will then prompt you for the ID of the animal to change. This method is helpful after you've manually removed a CHECK event from an animal's CowCard but the animal remains on the vet list. (See Erasing an Event from a CowCard to learn more).
The CHECK status can only be applied to animals if it's enabled in DairyComp. To enable or disable a vet code status, enter ALTER \5 in the command line to open the Vet List Options window. From here you can view all the vet codes configured for your system, change their values, and enable/disable them.
Vet codes with a "Y" indicate that the code is enabled, while an "N" indicates that it's disabled. Double-click on the vet code to change it, or select it and then click Change [F2].
