Merge Worklists in PCC
Question: How do I merge worklists in PCC?
Answer: You can merge a vet list, hospital list, or to-do list with up to 23 to-do lists directly in PCC. Merging multiple worklists helps you complete several tasks at once. Use a merged worklist to consolidate related tasks, reduce processing time, and better manage your dairy! When you process an animal using a merged list, each task from each merged list is processed at the same time.
Review the Merging Guidelines and Sound Guidelines to ensure that you only merge eligible lists.

- The merged list can only consist of the following combinations:
- 24 to-do lists
- 1 vet list and 23 to-do lists
- 1 hospital list and 23 to-do lists
- You can only have one merged list at a time. If you want to create a different merged list, you must unmerge the existing merged list.
- You should only merge lists that have predefined sounds associated with the list or the individual task items in the list. You must follow the Sound Guidelines to ensure that PCC plays all the required sounds.
- Note that processing times may be slightly longer to support the enhanced functionality of a merged list.

When lists are merged, PCC will only play sounds for a list with a sound file or the individual task items in the list when the list has no sound file. Follow these sound guidelines to ensure that PCC plays all the required sounds when you merge lists:
- PCC cannot play sounds for both a list and its task items if they all have sound files.
- If a list does not have a sound label, PCC plays the sounds for each task item.
- If a list and its task items do not have sounds, PCC plays the default core sound, AnimalNeeded (e.g. "NEEDED").
- If a list handles multiple task items, do not add a custom sound file for the list because it will be more beneficial to play sounds for each task item. To learn more about adding a sound to a task item, contact VAS Support.
- If a list handles a single task item, consider following the steps below to add a custom sound file for the list:
- In DC305, enter SERVER\3 in the command line.
- Open the PCC Lists tab to see all of your PCC-related commands.
- Double-click the command and select the sound file you want to hear when you run the command.
- Click OK to save the new sound.
If you do not see any applicable sound files, contact VAS Support to request more sound files.

- Open the Lists tab.
- Tap the boxes next to the lists you want to merge.
- Tap Merge • Unmerge in the bottom right corner to view the selected lists.
- Reorder the list by dragging the list names up or down.
- Tap Merge lists to create and activate the merged list.
When you process an animal, PCC plays sounds for each list or each task in this order. For example, if you want PCC to play the sound for the hospital tasks first, move the hospital list to the top of the list. Follow the Sound Guidelines to ensure that you hear all the sounds you need.
If you already have a merged list, PCC displays a warning message. Tap Yes to replace the existing list or No to keep the existing list and cancel the new merged list.

- Open the Lists tab.
- Tap the box next to the list you want to merge.
- Tap Add to Merged List.

You can temporarily deactivate an active merged list. You may want to do this if you want to process tasks on a separate standalone list, but you want to keep your merged list and activate it at a later time.
- Open the Lists tab.
- Uncheck the box next to the active merged list to deactivate it.

Unmerge a merged list to create a new one. This action breaks the current merged list into its individual components, allowing you to create a new merged list with a different combination of lists. PCC saves any progress you made on the original list.
- Open the Lists tab.
- Tap Merge • Unmerge in the bottom right corner.
- Tap Unmerge.

- In PCC, go to Administration > Settings.
- Uncheck the box next to Allow Merge of VET/HOSPITAL list.
- Save your changes.
